York County Announces Modified Operations

The County of York will be closing its offices to the public, effective 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18. The county will be closed through Friday, April 3, reopening Monday, April 6.

Modified operations for essential services and programs have been implemented in all county departments.
The modified operations include offices at York County Administrative Center, York County Human Services Center, York County at Pleasant Valley Road and York County Archives.

The York County Judicial Center, York County Prison, Youth Development Center, Emergency Services Center and all Magisterial District Courts will remain open.

The following changes have been made for York County Parks:
– All activities and events with 50 or more people are canceled through April
– All pavilion rentals are canceled until the end of April
– Soccer and softball fields are closed until May 1
– Nixon Park Nature Center is open for restroom use only

Any necessary, essential services will be permitted. Please make sure to contact the appropriate department to schedule any necessary transactions.

The commissioners declared a disaster emergency on Monday, March 16, following similar measures taken by the federal and state governments. To support the ongoing monitoring of the coronavirus pandemic, the county has activated its Multi-Agency Coordination group, which will be set up at the county’s Emergency Operations Center. This will allow for ongoing collaboration and support of resources to support the response of the coronavirus pandemic.
Any future public meetings will be streamed live on the county’s Facebook page, fb.com/yorkcountypa. Comments and questions can be submitted on Facebook or by calling 717-771-4333 during future public meetings.
The commissioners are continuing to encourage the public to conduct their business with the county either online or over the phone if possible. The county’s website, yorkcountypa.gov, contains contact information for county departments.
The County has partnered with the YCEA to develop an online resource for local businesses at PreparedYork.com.
