Bell Family Shelter

Resident Counselor – Bell Family Shelter – 1 PT Position

Caring, organized person needed who can remain positive and helpful in service to the efficiency of our shelter and the homeless families served there. The Resident Counselor (RC) will make routine safety and security checks of the site, complete intake and exit interviews as needed, and interact with residents to provide them with appropriate support. The RC will screen incoming calls and redirect callers to appropriate agency or office. Keeping the residence clean and orderly may also be assigned. This is a full-time hourly position. Minimum requirements: HS diploma /GED and 1 year experience in social services. Must be at least 21 years old. PA State Police background check, ChildLine clearance and/or FBI clearances.

Night Watchman – 1 FT Position

Accountable, safety-minded people encouraged to apply! The Night Watchman is responsible for the safety and security of Shelter residents, regular inspection of premises, and proper preparation and maintenance of required documentation and records.  One full-time position currently available. Minimum requirements:  HS diploma /GED or 1 year experience in social services.  Must be at least 21 years old.  PA State Police background check, Act 33 and/or FBI clearances.

Direct Support Professional (York & Adams County) – 13 FT Positions and 10 PT Positions

Share your compassionate nature and home management skills by providing “hands-on’ services and support to enable individuals with Intellectual Disabilities to live as independently as possible in a shared residential setting. DSPs are responsible for carrying out all day-to-day duties necessary for the residential programs to operate smoothly. Positions available throughout York and Adams County are full-time; second & third shift. Minimum requirements: Must be at least 21 years old, Requires HS/GED; most require no intellectual disability experience required, some locations require one plus years’ experience; valid driver’s license for 2 years, insurable driving record and reliable transportation. Current physical and Mantoux (TB) test required. PA State Police background check, ChildLine clearance and/or FBI clearance

 

Individual Service Workers (SELF) – 1 FT and 4 PT Positions

Help individuals live as independently as possible in the community when you take on a position in the SELF program. Explore opportunities in hands-on education to assist consumer-directed learning in regard to enhancing the level of independence in all areas of daily living skills. This is a part-time position. Work hours are flexible and may include evening and weekend hours based on consumer needs. Minimum requirements: HS diploma/GED. Day Program Service Worker (Bell at the Village/Adult Training Facility) –1 FT Position

The ideal employee in this hands-on position will ensure the safety of clients while teaching skills, monitoring medications, assisting with transportation, and helping clients live as independently as possible. MH DEPARTMENT

Resident Counselor – (CRAS) – 3 PT Positions

Come be part of the challenging and rewarding work of a CRAS Resident Counselor. By providing direct care service to consumers in a CRAS group home, you will help with skills training, implement medication monitoring system, respond to client emergencies, assist clients in progress towards goals developed on their individual plans, and complete documentation. This position is responsible for overall maintenance, management, and cleanliness of the facility during the shift and will remain in the residence whenever a client is present. This is a full-time hourly position and part-time hourly position.  Schedule consists of working rotating shifts of three nights/days on, six nights/days off. Minimum requirements:  one year of college credits in social science, or one year human service experience.  Must be at least 21 years old, possess a valid driver’s license, insurable driving record, and have reliable transportation. Current physical and Mantoux (TB) test required.  PA State Police background check.

Assistant Program Coordinator – (CHIPP Supported Living) – 1 FT Position

Keen management, organizational, and people skills will bring success in this position. To maintain proper day to day operation of the program, key responsibilities include:  staff supervision and aiding in hiring new staff, assisting with setting goals for program growth and development, administrative services, expense records, employee time sheets, evaluations for direct subordinates and organization/running of site meetings. The CHIPP APC will also attend staff meetings, rotate on-call time as assigned, and transport clients as necessary. This is a full time salaried position. Minimum requirements: bachelor’s degree in social science or four (4) years human service experience.  Must be at least 21 years old, possess valid driver’s license, insurable driving record and have reliable transportation.  PA State Police background check.

Drop-In Aide – 1 PT (ON CALL) Position

Bring your enthusiasm to this position assisting mental health consumers in utilizing and participating in programs and activities of the Liberty Bell Drop-In Center. The Drop-In Aide facilitates group activities, encourages client interaction and assists with socialization efforts while providing supportive counseling and information on community resources. Must also maintain proper documentation required of the job. Mental health consumer or former consumer preferred. This is an on-call hourly position which includes day, evening and weekend hours. Minimum requirements:  HS diploma/GED.  Must be at least 21 years old.  PA State Police background check.

Sendero Caseworker – Social Rehabilitation – 1 PT Position

Empower individuals living with mental illness in our Sendero program by assisting them as they utilize and participate in Bell’s social rehabilitation programs and activities. Your supportive role will include teaching academic, social, and daily living skills with a recovery-based approach. Critical elements include planning and preparing group material, facilitating groups, maintaining & coordinating client caseload, providing supportive counseling, and completing all necessary paperwork in a timely manner. All individuals in this program are Spanish speaking. This is a part-time hourly position. Minimum requirements: Associate’s degree or two years of college credits in social science OR two years human service experience; must be fluent in speaking, reading and writing Spanish; must be at least 21 years old, possess a valid driver’s license, insurable driving record, and have reliable transportation; PA State Police background check

Assisted Living Counselor – (CHIPP) – 1 FT Position

Bring your experience and energy to Bell prepared to make a difference.  The Assisted Living Counselor provides direct care services in a residential program working with clients who have a chronic mental illness and may also have additional physical and/or medical needs.  Monitor medications, respond to any client emergencies, provide supportive counseling, assist clients with activities of daily living and hygiene to the degree of the client’s needs, complete required documentation, transport clients as necessary, and ensure client safety.  This is a full-time hourly position. Minimum requirements: one year of college credits in social science or one year human service experience. Must be at least 21 years old, possess valid driver’s license, insurable driving record, and have reliable transportation. PA State Police background check.

Caseworker – (CHIPP) – 1 FT Position

Make a difference with this direct-care position assisting mental health service users maintain independent living. The CHIPP Caseworker is responsible for the supervision of the living area at their designated site while helping clients with basic skills. This is a full-time salaried position. Minimum requirements: associate’s degree in social science or college credits in social science or two years human services experience.  Must be at least  21 years old, possess valid driver’s license, insurable driving record, and have reliable transportation. Psychiatric Nurse – ACT – 1 FT Position

Bell Socialization Services is seeking a Registered Nurse to work within our Assertive Community Treatment Team and psychosocial support services for consumers with serious and persistent mental health issues.  This is a 24 hour/7day/week program with an integrated on-call system. Working hours are Monday – Friday 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM.  Minimum qualifications are Registered Nurse and at least 1 year experience in Community Mental Health required. 21 years old; valid PA driver’s license, insurable driving record, reliable transportation and PA State Police Background Check.  Minimum requirements: Registered Nurse and at least two years experience in community mental health; Must be at least 21 years old, possess a valid driver’s license, insurable driving record and reliable transportation.
